Following a raucous and energetic return to the stage this Summer at a packed-out headline show at London’s Garage the band also opened the Main Stage at the historic Reading & Leeds Festival, shortly before embarking on a North America headline tour.
COUNTERFEIT. recently revealed their music video for latest single It Gets Better, which was directed by Phillip Lopez (James Arthur, Cold War Kids and more). The video sees the five-piece embrace a roomful of passionate and dedicated fans who were invited by the band via social media, and sing along to the protest song together. Of the video, frontman Jamie Bower has said, “The video and the song are about healing, connection, community, humanity and spirit. We are lucky enough to have a fan base that feels like a family so wanted to bring the sense of community that we feel to a larger audience.” The track has already surpassed 500k streams across platforms, and has been going down a storm during the band’s live show. The track is currently on Spotify’s New Noise (325k followers) and Rock Rising (6k followers) playlists.
Having holed themselves up in Northampton for 6 months last year, the band rented a house together so they could hone in on writing their follow-up to debut album, Together We Are Stronger. It Gets Better is the first song to be released leading up to a full release in 2020, and the beginning of what’s to come from the 5-piece.
