Fresh from a fortnight’s worth of Coachella performances alongside SG Lewis and FKJ, 20-year-old vocalist, musician and rapper Col3trane today shares his new track ‘Problems In Us’.
Showcasing Cole at his most impressive, ‘Problems In Us’ is a deliciously succinct slice of future R&B produced by the London-based Sega Bodega, fusing a virtuosic vocal with hypnotic stringwork and a glitch-heavy beat. In perhaps his most personal and open moment to date, Cole sings of a love gone wrong across the intimate track.
The track, alongside recent releases such as the Goldlink-featuring ‘Superpowers’, named Zane Lowe’s World Record and his DJDS and Raye collaboration ‘The Fruits’, helps make up his forthcoming EP Heroine, due for release on 31st May. The six-track collection from the prodigy follows last year’s B.O.O.T mixtape, adding to an already impressive body of work for one of the most exciting young talents in the country.
Following the release of B.O.O.T late last summer, Cole solidified his standing as one of London’s most differentiated young talents. With sold out dates across Australia and Europe, (including a very special headline show at London’s Village Underground in October), a shortlist for the MTV Brand New 2019 and an appearance on the cover of Arena Homme +’s 25th anniversary issue (shot by Alasdair McLellan), Cole is continuing to push boundaries and establish himself as one of this year’s most exciting artists to watch.
