Chintzy Stetson releases his much-anticipated new single, Final Words, on July 27th. The track brims with the sexy pop grooves of mid-noughties B-Town and Bowie-style bursts of sax, its imagination resting on a decade of collaborations and chequered experiences.
Chintzy Stetson is the stage alias of Louis James Adams, a singer, songwriter, and guitarist who built his reputation as lead for Newcastle psych-rock band Them Things (Manimal Vinyl). After finding his spiritual home as Chintzy, he went on to sell out London headlines at the Sebright Arms, Shacklewell Arms and The Waiting Room, as well as being chosen as one of BBC Introducing’s Tips for 2022.
2021 saw Chintzy Stetson release his debut EP ‘Songs from the Top Shelf of my Heart’, which saw his music endorsed by Sam Fender, produced by Tom Ungerer (Fender’s bassist), and mixed by Omar Yakar Jr (The War on Drugs, Perfume Genius).
Stetson’s work has been over a decade in the making, with a whirlwind life involving everything from LA major label offices to extended hospital stays. Final Words is his 8th single release, but he has also been busy in the studio finishing his debut album musically pushing boundaries of everything from indie alternative, including The Black Keys, The War on Drugs, Alex G, to songwriting maestros The Felice Brothers.
Stetson’s now turned a corner, ready to speed down the home straight. Bolstered by other supporters and armed with a holster of red-hot pop, he’s ready to bring his sound to the masses, assembling a full band, releasing his debut album and selling out shows “I’m just grateful”, he says.
