CHARLIE CUNNINGHAM has unveiled an official video for HEADLIGHTS, a stand-out track from his recently released album PERMANENT WAY. The video arrives as Charlie and his full live band prepare for an extensive UK headline tour. Speaking about the track, Charlie shares, “I’m quite a private person outside of performing. There is some autobiographical stuff in the lyrics, but it flits in and out quite a lot; it’s much more about people generally and their interactions”.
The slick video, by Sam Harper, features Charlie himself in a constantly moving and evolving world of juxtaposition, confusion and resolution.
The release of the HEADLIGHTS video offers a refreshing look at PERMANENT WAY. Released in June to widespread acclaim, the songs on Charlie’s second studio album offer boosted colours and dynamics but still retain his achingly personal appeal.
As a follow-up to the release of PERMANENT WAY, Charlie has reimagined some of the tracks for release as a live studio EP. The FLESH AND BONE STUDIO SESSIONS EP will be released on 29 November via Infectious / BMG and two of the live studio versions – DON’T GO FAR and HUNDRED WAYS – are available now in digital format here:
