With his brilliant new single Edge Of The World, (listen here) Calum Bowie’s horizons are expanding – and he’s announced his biggest headline tour yet to celebrate. The newly announced shows, in February and March 2025, will follow a UK tour supporting Arthur Hill this November, Calum’s first European headline dates and two nights in his adopted home town of Edinburgh in December.
General sale for all dates on Friday 20th September at 10am at www.calumbowie.com/#live
The Aberdeenshire singer and songwriter, who first came to wider attention when his joyful lockdown cover versions went viral from the confines of his Edinburgh flat, is now a major-signed artist and taking his music out into the world in person.
“The last few months has been incredible,” says the 23 year old. “I’m doing all the things I dreamed of when I was stuck in that flat for months on end.”
Since his last single All About Me came out in May, Calum’s had a summer of ‘firsts’ – first time playing Glastonbury, first European gigs and festivals and his first trip to the USA, including a pilgrimage to song-writing mecca Nashville, Tennessee.
“I spent a week in LA and I loved the energy of the place, then went to Nashville which I thought would be calmer and quieter. Not a chance. The streets were rammed, everyone’s out partying, every bar has the most incredible musicians playing and it was so buzzing with talent. It’s an incredibly inspiring place.”
Calum’s fans are becoming familiar with his wide-open, big-sky sound and, on Edge Of The World, he really soars. “People who haven’t heard my previous stuff can get into this, the chorus is huge. I wanted something people could sing along with right away, something to really belt out at a festival. I was also feeling a bit far from home when I wrote the lyrics, so there’s a really emotional feeling when the chorus hits. I’m absolutely going for it,” he laughs.
What’s next is a return to the UK for a tour supporting Arthur Hill in November before two headline Edinburgh shows – the first sold out in no time, with a second almost done – and another trip to Europe, headlining this time.
You get the feeling there’s going to be a lot more travelling for Calum Bowie as the rest of the world catches on to his irresistible talent.
Calum supports Arthur Hill on tour in November: Manchester (11), Leeds (12), Bristol (14), Birmingham (15), Nottingham (17), Cardiff (18), Brighton (20) and London (21).
