Following the success of a selection of pop-up busking appearances across the UK, including Falmouth for the G7 Summit, Isle Of Wight, Cambridge, Winchester and many more, country-pop duo Ward Thomas continue the run with a selection of dates in October. Raising money for five charities close to their hearts – TreeSisters, The Ocean Cleanup, The Arctic Ice Project, Jane Goodall Institute, Client Earth – the girls will continue to busk each week, under the banner #buskingforourplanet, until the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow on 1st November.
Partnering with Busk In London and Goodbox, the sisters have been taking in towns and cities across the UK since May and will play a special show on the 30th October for Network Rail, to busk whilst COP26 representatives depart London Euston on electric trains to Glasgow. “Now that we are in the final stretch before COP26 it feels more important than ever to be out there busking and raising awareness on the important issues of climate change, whilst also highlighting the terrific and uplifting work that our chosen charities are tirelessly doing.” Catherine said on the Busks.
“When ‘Busking For Our Planet’ first started we came across people who didn’t know what COP26 was and now it feels as though awareness is much higher, which is really great,” Lizzy continued. “Maybe our efforts at the Busks and online have played a small part in that.”
