Introducing Broken Biscuit Company, the exciting new artist project of bassist and singer Jack Tustin, who today releases his brand new single ‘Primrose Hill’ – taken from his debut EP to be released in September – listen here.

Through an optimistic lens tinged with English wit and colloquialism, this track sees Jack tackle themes from his childhood, through to a coming of age in London. “Primrose Hill is about a failed first date I had with an opera singer on Primrose Hill who ended up ghosting me,” he explains.

Having played upright and electric bass with the likes of HAIM, Matilda Mann and Self Esteem, Jack adopted the moniker after winning his category of the UK Songwriting Contest 2022 in order to distinguish his work as an artist from his established career as a session musician. Jack grew up playing in rock bands, rehearsing in his friend’s attic, to winning a scholarship to study jazz at both Royal Academy and Guildhall School of Music.

His debut singles ‘Million Small Beginnings’ & ‘Stunt Double’ both arrived as a statement of intent – a chaotic explosion of optimism and a depiction of loud dreams in a busy mind. Jack will release his debut EP in September.

With more music to follow, as well as debut live shows on the horizon, it’s just the start for the Cambridge-born artist who’s finally craving his own creative outlet.
