Fast-rising 21-year old North London rapper and singer BRANDZ, and 20-year old South London singing and songwriting sensation ZION have entered 2020 strong with their brand new collaborative mixtape 25/8 amassing over two million streams! Upon release over Christmas, the project debuted at #2 on the iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap Album Chart, and broke into the top 50 on the worldwide iTunes Album Chart, and as the new year gets into full swing, their 25/8 mixtape has now also landed Brandz and Zion in the Spotify Viral Top 50 Charts in the UK, Sweden, and Norway, simultaneously.
25/8 has also been highlighted across several Spotify playlists in this new year, including the hugely coveted We Move and Afro Bashment playlists with ‘Blessing’, and ‘Intro’ also being added to the This Is How We Do and R&B UK playlists, coming on the back of Brandz and Zion recently releasing the music video for ‘Intro’, which has now amassed nearly 300,000 views on YouTube, and supporting Russ (Splash) on his latest UK tour last month, with the duo already prepping to head back out on the road for their own headline tour, which is to be announced for the Spring.
The project sets them up firmly for 2020, on the back of an already stellar 2019 from both artists individually, with Zion clocking over 5 million streams on his debut solo project with Virgin EMI/Universal Music, and Brandz garnering over 10 million plays under his belt, as part of acclaimed duo Tizzy & Brandz, and they are continuing their winning streak with 25/8, through which Brandz and Zion are also making huge statements about their place within UK music in 2020, from taking ownership of their exciting genre fusing sound of UK Rap, R&B, Trap, and Afroswing; to stepping into their own as two of the hardest working artists in the game, as they suggest with the ‘25/8’ title.
