Blossoms have today shared the fantastic video for their current single ‘I Can’t Stand It’. Directed by the band themselves, the video pays subtle homage to Michel Gondry’s modern classic ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’. The band’s frontman Tom Ogden explains:

‘The video was inspired by the film Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind. I’m undergoing a procedure to erase memories of a former love. The video takes place in a surreal part of my mind, with the rest of the band as the doctors and surgeons’.

I Can’t Stand It’ represents something of a sonic change for the band. Its slick, synth led sound sets the tone for the remainder of ‘Cool Like You’ and is indicative of the band’s bold new approach. The track shot up the Spotify UK Viral charts to number 7 this week, while also entering the Spotify Top 100 UK Chart and amassing 250,000 streams in three days.

Since forming in 2013, Blossoms have enjoyed consistent success. Their 2016 debut full length topped the album charts and went on to earn the band Brit Award and Mercury Prize nominations to add to a series of magazine covers and poll nominations.

The band will be undertaking a UK tour in May in support of the record, including a hometown show on the 4th May at Stockport Plaza. Full dates are listed below. Tickets for the tour are now on sale here
