Singer-songwriter and multidimensional artist Ben Goldsmith has today released his punchy new single Wish We Never Met. Listen here. The track is taken from his upcoming album The Start of Something Beautiful, available 13th September, pre-save here.
Speaking on the latest release, Ben said “I always wanted a song people could go crazy to at a festival or in a mosh pit, that’s what this song feels like. I stumbled upon the phrase ‘I want you and I wish we never met’ just by scatting with Joseph Patton. We ran with the theme of heartache and desperation. It’s a theme anyone can identify with and I’m very proud of the song.”
The track joins previously released “Love Again” and “When We Said Goodbye” as the advance peek into Goldsmith’s sophomore project.
A dynamic performer and prodigious talent, Goldsmith developed the new LP with celebrated creators such as Dan Wilson (Taylor Swift, Adele), Rick Nowels (Lana Del Rey), and Alex Hope (Troye Sivan, Alec Benjamin) to name a few. Spanning heartbreak rockers, coming-of-age anthems, first love swooners, and more, The Start of Something Beautiful highlights Goldsmith’s once-in-a-generation musicianship and songwriting as the 18-year-old has writing credits on every track and produced nearly half the record. Highlighted as a noteworthy emerging artist by The Hollywood Reporter, the multi-instrumentalist also plays guitar, piano, lap steel, organ, mellotron, and bass throughout the project.
Fans can catch Goldsmith in London at The Courtyard Theatre, London on Tuesday 17th September. He will also be touring with Australian trio Sons of the East in addition to select headline dates across the US. Tour dates and ticket information is available at BenGoldsmith.net.
