Today BASE Hologram and the Estate of Whitney E. Houston give fans all over the world the first sneak peek behind the scenes of ‘An Evening With Whitney’ – the eagerly anticipated Whitney Houston hologram tour. Coinciding with news of Whitney’s induction into the illustrious Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, the tour is a celebration of Houston’s music, transcendent impact and influence.
Presented through state-of-the-art proprietary holographic technology and combined with unmatched Broadway theatrical stagecraft, a live band, back-up singers and dancers set to digitally remastered arrangements of her classic songs, the production will be helmed by acclaimed choreographer Fatima Robinson (“Dreamgirls,” “The Academy Awards”). Named one of Entertainment Weekly’s “100 Most Creative People in Entertainment,” Robinson is known for her work choreographing massive events and directing multiple award-winning music videos working with such names as Rihanna, Kanye West, and Mary J. Blige.
More than just a groundbreaking technological experience, the tour will be enhanced by live dancers accompanying Houston’s hologram with new choreography. In this first look behind the scenes, hundreds turned up to dance auditions in Los Angeles held by acclaimed director and choreographer Fatima Robinson alongside collaborative partner Adrian Wiltshire
Whitney’s timeless 1987 hit ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)’ beams as the footage’s soundtrack as Fatima and Adrian run through the choreography that will accompany the digitised icon on www. True to Whitney’s essence as performer who boasted a combination of technical precision, soul and personality, Adrian highlighted the need for dancers to have a healthy balance of all three to do the show and her iconic hits justice.
Robinson, who famously worked with the incomparable legend on set of the ‘I’m Every Woman’ video, confesses she wanted to get involved with the production as a chance to curate a singular experience where fans across the globe can once again bask in the presence and spirit of Whitney’s once in a lifetime talent.
Fatima says: “There is only one Whitney. No one will ever have that voice. Her music touched every generation. We’re going to take some movie magic and add it into our live performance. It’s going to be incredible.”
‘An Evening With Whitney Houston’ is produced by BASE Hologram, the leading live event producer of cutting edge holographic live entertainment tours and attractions worldwide, in partnership with The Estate of Whitney E. Houston.
Kicking off in Sheffield, the twelve date UK & IRL tour will also expand throughout the globe with stops planned across Europe and in Mexico and North America. The show will include all of the singer’s iconic hits including “I Will Always Love You,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)”, “The Greatest Love of All” and “Higher Love.”
The only artist to chart seven consecutive #1 Billboard Hot 100 hits, the first female artist to enter the Billboard 200 Album Charts at #1 and the only artist with eight consecutive multi-platinum albums, Whitney Houston redefined what it meant to be an iconic superstar. Certified by The Guinness World Records as “the most awarded female artist of all time” with over 400 awards including 6 GRAMMYS, 22 American Music Awards, 16 Billboard Music Awards, two Emmy nominations and one win, Houston also had success on the big screen with starring roles in “The Bodyguard,” “Waiting To Exhale” and “The Preacher’s Wife.”
An Evening With Whitney: The Whitney Houston Hologram Tour will join BASE Hologram’s current touring shows “Roy Orbison & Buddy Holly: The Rock ‘N’ Roll Dream Tour” and “Callas in Concert.”
