Following the release of her anthemic single ‘Your Blood’ in November, Norwegian alt-pop sensation AURORA today returns with her hypnotic new single ‘The Conflict of The Mind’, out now via Decca Records/Glassnote/Petroleum. Premiered last night by Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, AURORA delivers here a soul-stirring ballad that delves into the depths of isolation and self-discovery, out now with an accompanying music video — listen here / watch here.

Produced and recorded by Chris Greatti in Rosendal, Norway and mixed by Mitch McCarthy (Olivia Rodrigo, Lady Gaga, Conan Gray), ‘The Conflict of The Mind’ sees AURORA balancing calming melody to distant lively beats, complemented by her pure and acrobatic voice.

AURORA co-directed the music video with Kaveh Nabatian, depicting her struggle to fit in, without losing her identity.

AURORA comments: “I tend to isolate myself when I’m in pain. And with time, I’ve learnt that I’ve deprived the people around me of the great honour of being there for someone you love. Deep in there, beneath all the darkness, there is beauty. Once you’ve truly opened up you’ll find a version of yourself you thought was gone. And it will be beautiful. “

She adds “Talk to each other before it’s too late. All families have pain, and I believe talking to each other is an important part of healing. After the storm, comes peace. “

‘The Conflict of The Mind’ is the second glimpse of AURORA’s new material since her third, and highest charting album to date, ‘The Gods We Can Touch’ which went Top 10 in the Official UK Album Chart. In a remarkable return last November, AURORA released ‘Your Blood’, championed on BBC Radio 1 & BBC Radio 2 and garnered more than two millions views on YouTube. Adding to her multifaceted talent, AURORA also released her very first book last year, also titled ‘The Gods We Can Touch’, in collaboration with Decca Records & Faber Music. Due to unprecedented high demand, and sales surpassing 10,000 copies to date, the printing presses had to be relaunched.
