STUDIOCANAL and Universal Music Group have announced that the Norwegian singer AURORA has written and recorded an original song, ‘THE SECRET GARDEN’ tied to the global release of Marc Munden’s film by the same name.
AURORA has previously featured as an artist on the ‘FROZEN II’ soundtrack with Idina Menzel. Her film work followed in the footsteps of her hugely successful first two albums; her debut ‘All My Demons Greeting Me As a Friend’ and its follow-up 2 part album ‘Infections Of A Different Kind’ (Step 1) & ‘A Different Kind of Human (Step 2)’. AURORA’s music has now received over 1 Billion streams.
Speaking to the collaboration with AURORA for the film, producer Rosie Alison said “AURORA is such a unique and inspiring singer-songwriter, and we were thrilled when The Secret Garden sparked this collaboration with her. True to the spirit of the story, her exquisite song conjures nature’s mysterious power in our lives.”
The single was released on September 4th, with a full soundtrack for the film released by Universal Music Group on the same day.

THE SECRET GARDEN began its worldwide roll-out in July, and launched in the US on Friday 7th August with a PVOD release via STX Films. The film will continue its global roll-out throughout 2020, with theatrical releases scheduled in the UK on 23 October 2020.
THE SECRET GARDEN tells the story of Mary Lennox (Dixie Egerickx – Genius, The Little Stranger), a prickly and unloved 10-year-old girl, born in India to wealthy British parents. When they die suddenly, she is sent back to England to live with her uncle, Archibald Craven (Academy Award® and BAFTA-winner Colin Firth – A Single Man, The King’s Speech, Bridget Jones’s Baby) at Misselthwaite Manor, a remote country estate deep in the Yorkshire moors, under the watchful eye of Mrs. Medlock (BAFTA-winner Julie Walters – Mary Poppins Returns, Harry Potter, Mamma Mia) and with only the household maid, Martha (Isis Davis – Guilt, Electric Dreams) for company.
Mary begins to uncover many family secrets, particularly after chancing upon her sickly cousin Colin (Edan Hayhurst – Genius, There She Goes), who has been shut away in a wing of the house, and through her discovery of a wondrous garden, locked away and lost within the grounds of Misselthwaite.
While searching for Hector, a stray dog that led Mary to the garden walls, she befriends local boy Dickon (Amir Wilson – His Dark Materials, The Kid Who Would Be King) who, through the garden’s restorative powers, helps her to fix Hector’s injured leg.
Once brought together, these three damaged, slightly misfit children heal each other as they delve deeper into the mysteries of the garden – a magical place of adventure that will change their lives forever.
Additionally, AURORA has recorded a performance with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra which will be streamed on Sunday 6th September and will only be available for 72 hours.
