Astrid S releases her brand new track ‘I Do’ via Virgin EMI Records / Universal Music Norway. ‘I Do’, Astrid’s first release of 2020, sees the rising star venture into new territory with a pop collaboration featuring US country music star Brett Young.
Of the collaboration, Astrid says:
‘I’ve grown up with country music – it’s a genre I admire very much and it’s been a big influence and inspiration throughout the years in my songwriting. I’m so happy Brett wanted to do this song with me. Hope you’ll love it as much as I do!’
‘I Do’ opens with a simple acoustic guitar, building to an anthemic chorus which perfectly pairs Astrid and Brett’s contrasting vocals. The track, written by Astrid herself, serves as an honest confession of remaining feelings for a former lover. Once written, the Norwegian singer and songwriter approached US multi-Platinum performer Brett Young, who agreed to join the duet.
Of the duet, Brett Young says:
‘I was so honoured to be asked to collaborate on this track with Astrid. When I first heard “I do”’ I instantly connected to the lyrics and storytelling, so jumping onboard and digging into something a little bit different was a no-brainer for me. I can’t wait for the fans to hear this one!’
Country superstar Brett Young has released five consecutive US number one singles, a platinum-selling self-titled debut album and most recently released his second album ‘Ticket to L.A’ via BMLG Records, which debuted at the top of the Billboard Country Album charts.
