To celebrate the release of their debut album ‘When We Land’ on March 22nd, Anteros have announced two competitions for fans to win acoustic living room shows, as well as a host of other exclusive prizes. The competitions are as follows:
Fans must recreate the artwork for the band’s recent single ‘Drive On’ (pictured) with single-use plastic, as a part of the band’s mission to raise awareness of plastic pollution. To enter, fans must post their image to social media, tagging the band and hashtagging #DriveOn. Three lucky winners will receive:
- An acoustic living room show on the band’s UK headline tour in April
- A personalised video message from the band
- A signed, limited edition double white ‘When We Land’ LP
Additionally, London-based fans can respond to this social media post telling the band their favourite single from ‘When We Land’ so far and why, in order to win an acoustic living room show when the album is released this Friday. This competition closes on Thursday 21st March.
‘Drive On’ and its accompanying artwork and video are intended to convey the overwhelming impact plastic has on the environment. Frontwoman Laura Hayden was inspired to write the track after reading about the Great Pacific garbage patch, an island of rubbish which is estimated to be twice the size of Texas. Having extensively researched the detrimental impact our wasteful society has on the environment, the band are currently taking great lengths to make sure that all of their products and live shows are as environmentally friendly as possible. No plastics were purchased for the making of the video.
The band’s debut album ‘When We Land’ will be released on March 22nd on Distiller Records, followed by a UK in-store tour throughout March and UK headline tour in April. The band recently completed a huge European tour with SWMRS and a number of critically acclaimed performances at SXSW, as well as a sold out Scala show alongside You Me At Six for BRITs Week with War Child. In addition, they have been chosen for Radio X’s Great X-Pectations, The Telegraph’s Pop’s New Faces and DIY’s Class Of 2019 and received consistent support from BBC Radio 1 and Radio X. Their widespread critical acclaim combined with impressive commercial feats (their music has amassed over 6 million Spotify streams and counting, and consistently playlisted on Spotify’s New Music Friday) positions Anteros as an undeniable force to be reckoned with in 2019.
