Acclaimed musician, songwriter and composer Andrew Bird today announces dates for his European Tour this summer. Kicking off at Munich’s Neue Theaterfabrik and finishing at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, July will see Andrew Bird play 5 nights over 7 days, including headline shows at Berlin’s Metropol, Utrecht’s Tivolivredenburg and Cologne’s Gloria. Full tour listing below.
Fans will be able to hear tracks from Andrew’s GRAMMY nominated My Finest Work Yet, as well as other favourites from across his celebrated, 17 album long career. The upcoming tour will mark Andrew Bird’s first European full-band tour in nearly three years, following a select number of appearances at Newport Folk Festival and Ravinia Festival in 2021, and an ongoing series of virtual Performance Now! live-streams.
Last autumn Andrew and singer-songwriter Iron & Wine collaborated with La Blogotheque and Lucky Brand to launch the Play For Parks initiative; a digital series raising money to preserve US National Parks. Filmed in Yosemite National Park, it includes the debut live performance of his yet-to-be-released track ‘Fixed Positions’ – view here.
Recording and touring extensively, Andrew Bird has performed around the world at festivals and renowned institutions including Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House and Walt Disney Concert Hall. Shortly after receiving his 2020 GRAMMY nomination for Best Folk Album, with My Finest Work Yet, Andrew Bird made his professional acting debut in the cast of Fargo’s fourth instalment. In March 2021, Bird released his latest project, These 13, an album co-written and recorded with his longtime friend and former Squirrel Nut Zippers collaborator, Jimbo Mathus. Throughout his career, Bird has also been a TED Talks presenter, a New Yorker Festival guest, an op-ed contributor for the New York Times and more.
