Amber Run release their ‘Philophobia Unplugged’ EP, which is a collection of six breathtaking tracks recorded at London’s iconic RAK Studios. The tracks’ new form can be heard live in a unique, one-off set via a “pay-what-you-like” live stream from Omeara in London on July 19th.
‘Philophobia Unplugged’ is an emotive EP of intimate recordings, reinventing highlighted songs from the British band’s third album ‘Philophobia’ released in September 2019. The Unplugged record is also being made available on vinyl, with a strictly limited translucent blue 12” pressing available for preorder from the band’s website HERE.
Of the project, lead singer Joe Keogh said: “It’s funny when you record a song and put it out in the world, you think it’s finished and it can’t be touched again”. Highlighting some of the band’s favourite tracks from the album and working alongside producer Ben Allen (Tom Misch, Izzy Bizu) the EP saw the band strip each song back to basics to re-frame the originals. “We really enjoyed the process of reimagining and interpreting the songs again. It made us realise that a song can be dressed however you want”.
The EP follows the band’s recent uplifting full-length album ‘Philophobia’ released last year and toured extensively throughout the UK and Europe as well as their debut US tour. About their honest and hard-hitting record, the band shared; “Philophobia is about connection. It’s about love in all its forms, whether platonic or romantic, or the relationship we have with ourselves”.
To celebrate the release of the record, the band have announced a special one-off global live streamed event to take place Sunday 19th July. The event, streamed live from London’s iconic and award winning music venue Omeara, will see the three band members performing tracks from their three albums and fans are invited to reserve their place with a ‘pay-what-you-want’ ticket.
The event will also feature some ‘yet-to-be-revealed’ surprises for those who purchase a ticket to the ‘pay-what-you-want’ streaming event. Tickets are available now HERE
