With over half a billion streams to his name and as one of Spotify’s Pop Rising Artists to Watch in 2024, Alexander Stewart releases his new single “life at first sight.” Alexander wrote and performed the song for his sister’s wedding and surprised her with it at his hometown show in Toronto. “When I was writing ‘life at first sight,’ I never imagined it would have a life beyond being a sweet surprise for my sister on her big day,” Alexander shares. “But when I started playing it on tour and saw how it moved the crowd, I realized that this song could be the soundtrack for so many other people’s big life moments and knew I had to put it out. Seeing the reaction online to ‘life at first sight’ has been deeply emotional, and I can’t wait to see what other moments this song helps bring to life.”
“life at first sight” follows the release of Alexander’s debut album bleeding heart. Written in between touring dates and amidst achieving international success, the album features Alexander’s massive hits “blame’s on me” currently sitting at almost 120 million Spotify streams, and “i wish you cheated,” which launched with a viral TikTok campaign that saw over 45 million views and led to Alexander Stewart appearing on late-night TV with his debut performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
