Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Alesso releases a brand new mixtape, ‘Alesso Mixtape – Progresso Volume 1’ – the first in an ongoing series of special track collections out on Virgin EMI. The new three-song mixtape, which is available now, is the first he will share with fans, and finds the influential artist returning to a more club-inspired sound.
Today’s mixtape is accompanied by a video for euphoric lead track ‘Time’, with additional visuals to be released on 15th and 22nd March for ‘Progresso’ and ‘Confession’. The new video, which was produced by Shots Studios and features a robot boy in a post-apocalyptic world, continues the intergalactic theme seen in previous visuals including most recent single ‘REMEDY’. “This project, for me, is about going back to my roots and making house records. I wanted to represent the culture of dance music through this mixtape. Each song is powerful and unique. It’s about telling a story of the past and the future of the genre through the music.”
An extended version of the mixtape, ‘Alesso Mixtape – Progresso Volume 1 (Extended)’, is also out now on DJ sites including SoundCloud, Beatport, DJcity and Mixcloud.
Alesso says: “’Confessions’ is very balanced from start to finish, in my opinion. This might sound weird, but it feels like outer space to me in the way that certain sounds react with each other and create this big experience with a great pace. ‘Progresso’ starts so powerfully, and then about two minutes in, the incredible vocals come in and everything slows down. It feels like you’re floating as Ale Alberti sings ‘save me now’. It’s beautiful and I love the way it builds back up. I can’t wait to play this one live.”
Alesso, one of the world’s most influential DJs and producers who has over three billion streams to his name, will play new UK live shows this summer giving fans the chance to hear the new music live. The global music star will play shows in London, Liverpool and Glasgow between 20th-22nd June bringing his must-see live experience, with world-renowned electronic music and visuals, to British fans.

Ahead of the British dates, Alesso is in South America for a series of special appearances. He will play the Bloco das Poderosas at Carnival in Rio de Janeiro tomorrow. The set follows a performance at the Venezuela Aid Live humanitarian concert at the embattled border in the country last week (the only non-Latin music artist to appear), as well as headline sets at EDC Mexico in Mexico City and LA Solar Festival in Cartagena, Colombia.
With over 2.5 million single sales in Britain alone and four UK Top 10 singles, Alesso has produced many smash hit tracks and remixes including latest single ‘REMEDY’, the Number 1 hit ‘Under Control’ with Calvin Harris and Hurts, and 2014’s ‘Heroes (We Could Be)’ featuring Tove Lo.
