Stereophonics kicked off the first night back at Scarborough Open Air Theatre in nearly 2 years, and what a night it was. It was great to see the thousands of people there, happy, relaxed, and having a truly great time. Just as importantly, the weather was kind to us despite a poor forecast and we were blessed with a lovely warm summer evening.
Opening the show was Nottingham band Blondes, who proved why they were starting to create a stir and have exciting news to share next week. The band shared a selection of their songs to the waiting crowd, it is never easy being the opening act when the crowd have come to see one of the biggest bands in the uk but they did manage to put on a good performance despite this and the crowd gave them a good welcome.
The Stereophonics opened with C’est La Vie and the crowd went wild, and for the next 2 hours as they belted out their biggest hits, the crowd danced and sang along. Before long and after a 4 song encore it was all over, with thousands of very happy people heading home.
