For decades fashion and music have gone hand in hand. From punk to heavy metal to glam rock, each sub-genre of music had its own identity through fashion and mod was no different. So, walking through Halifax town centre ahead on Sunday evening ahead of the return of the Modfather himself, Paul Weller, it comes as no surprise to see plenty of sharp-dressed mods milling about and making the most of the early evening warm weather.
Head into the stunning surroundings of The Piece Hall and the place is sold-out with even more mods of all ages getting ready for the return for the iconic singer. Supported by his good friends Stone Foundation who are clearly happy to be back on stage, there is even a fan wearing a Paul Weller face mask in the crowd.
Halifax’s mod contingent clearly had their dancing shoes on as Weller dancing along with pints raised to the likes of “Cosmic Fringes” and would have raised the roof off the Piece Hall had there been one during the likes of “That’s Entertainment” and “Town Called Malice
Finishing up a weekend which saw Tom Grennan and Paloma Faith already performing to packed out crowds in Halifax, Paul Weller was the perfect way to finish off this buffet of live music and didn’t disappoint fans who lapped up the career-spanning set Weller had pulled together.
While the weather had been a bit iffy on Saturday, there was nothing but glorious sunshine for one of the UK’s most loved musical faces. So, with a few beers, a few friends and a soundtrack full of legendary tunes, not one person in this sold-out crowd could deny that was anything other than total entertainment!
