Wychwood Festival reveal more incredible names for 2023: Happy Mondays will headline on Friday 2nd June, with Sunday’s headliner TBA. Across the weekend they will be joined by a huge line-up, including Ash, Melanie C, Soul II Soul, Scouting For Girls, The Beat, Toploader, The Dualers, Republica, The Electric Swing Circus and Mr Motivator.
They join the previously announced headliner Travis, who will perform at Wychwood for their only festival appearance in the South of England in 2023, plus other acts Heather Small and The Proclaimers.
Nominated ‘Best Family Festival’ every single year in the UK Festival Awards, Cheltenham’s most loved family festival Wychwood Festival will return 2nd – 4th June 2023, now on a brand new site at Cheltenham Racecourse. Tickets for all days are on sale now HERE.
Kicking things off on Friday 2nd June is Salford rockers, Happy Mondays. The Ivor Novello winners and BRIT nominees are one of the most influential groups from the 80s and 90s. Led by frontman Shaun Ryder, they created the genre-defining sound ‘Madchester’ fusing UK indie and acid house, inspiring musicians for generations to come.
Joining the line-up on Friday will be three-piece rock band from Northern Ireland, Ash. With two UK Number 1 albums, the trio are gearing up to re-release their second album Nu-Clear Sounds on splatter vinyl on 24 February. Plus The Beat, one of the key bands from the UK ska revival with three UK Top 10 albums including their debut, 1980’s I Just Can’t Stop It. Also The Dualers, a 9-piece Jamaican Rhythm & Blues band from South East London, and technopop punk rock trio Republica.
Chart-topping singer Melanie C will perform on Sunday 4th June. Part of one of the biggest girl bands of all time, the Spice Girls, Melanie C went on to forge an amazing solo career including two UK Number 1 singles and two UK Top 10 albums. Picking up BRIT, Olivier and Ivor Novello nominations along the way, Melanie C was named the Inspirational Artist at the 2022 Music Week Women in Music Awards.
Also performing alongside her are indie-rock band Toploader. Best known for their global hit ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’, the single achieved multi-platinum status in the UK after selling and streaming 2.4 billion units, currently holding over 640 million streams on Spotify alone. Plus, GRAMMY award winning Soul II Soul, the British musical collective known for major hits ‘Keep on Movin’’ and UK Number 1 ‘Back to Life’, and electro-swing group from Birmingham, The Electric Swing Circus.
Already announced as headliners on Saturday 3rd June is multi-BRIT award winning band Travis, with The Proclaimers and Heather Small also on the bill. New exciting additions to Saturday are award-winning indie-pop band Scouting For Girls. Entering the scene with their UK Number 1 self-titled debut album in 2007, the record went on to become triple platinum, featuring coming-of-age anthems ‘She’s So Lovely’, ‘Elvis Ain’t Dead’ and ‘Heartbeat’. With six albums and four BRIT nominations to their name, the band continue to stand the test of time. Also, fan favourite Mr Motivator will be back to get everyone pumped up!
Today Wychwood can also reveal their fantastic comedy line-up for 2023 including Angela Barnes, Mike Cox, Tony Cowards, Catherine Flanigan, Jon Wagstaffe on Friday 2 June, Dianne Spencer, Steve Day, Sarah Johnson, Adam Beardsmore on Saturday 3 June and Jack Gleadow, Faye Treacy, Andrew Bird, Chris Brooker on Sunday 4 June.

Wychwood are thrilled to share their new venue Howlin’ Pete’s, which will house some not-to-be-missed unique activities over the weekend. Such as: Barrioke, Hip Hop Karaoke, Junior Jungle, and Elvis Lesley.
Wychwood will present over 100 workshops and activities for families across the weekend. First details have been released today, with more announcements to come: magician El Baldiniho, circus performer Loz Because with Crabracadabra!, Marky Jay’s The Monkey Magic Show, music workshop Happy Sloth Tape Club, comic theatre and circus show FailFailFailFailWin, Professor Strange’s magic experience, junk drumming workshop Glamba, a Balloon Dragon Parade, Bhangra/Bollywood sessions with Sohan Kailey, Circus Workshops, Sambistas, Yoga, Open Mic Sessions, Harp Playing Workshops, Arts and Crafts, Dance, Storytelling, Puppet Shows, Street Theatre and Buskers.
Last year, Wychwood Festival saw headline performances from Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Levellers, and Deacon Blue, with hundreds of activities and workshops also taking place over the weekend.
Now on a bigger site within Cheltenham’s Racecourse, Wychwood is continuing its year on year growth by preparing for its biggest festival yet.
Early Bird tickets are already sold out. Tier 1 tickets start from just £129.50 for adults and £64.50 for children aged 10 – 15. Children under 10 go free.
