The Long Road festival returns this August for a bank holiday weekend filled with the finest array of American sights, experiences, tastes and sounds found this side of the Atlantic, and is adding another raft of next-level names today.
Joining the previously announced Sunday headliner The Cadillac Three, the legendary Chris Young and Drake White join the top of the highly curated line up of acts set to grace the stages of Leicestershire’s stunning Stanford Hall estate.
Multi-platinum global entertainer Chris Young has firmly established himself as one of Country music’s most distinctive and popular male voices in the genre today, earning numerous prestigious award nominations from the likes of the Grammys, American Music Awards, Academy of Country Music, Country Music Association and CMT Music Awards and even took home Best International Act of the Year at the British CMA’s. Expect a huge show packed with mega hits like ‘Tomorrow’, ‘I’m Comin’ Over,’ ‘Drinking Me Lonely’ and the biggest song on Country Radio across the US last year ‘Famous Friends’.
“I’m excited to return to the UK later this year – I’ve released a lot of new music since I was there in 2019 and can’t wait to play a lot of these new songs from Famous Friends when I see everyone at The Long Road,” shares Young.
Headlining the opening Friday night at The Long Road is the Northeastern Alabama native Drake White, bringing the soul and rhythm of his upbringing in the Appalachian foothills with a spectacular set of tracks including ‘Girl In Pieces’ and ‘Nothing Good Happens After Midnight’. A firm favourite among UK Country music fans, Drake makes his long-awaited return to British shores here this summer.
With a welcoming celebration of the finest handpicked artists, the three day camping event gathers together a range of alternative music fans for a joyous weekend in the great outdoors. Expect more news to come on a whole world of displays and extra events to entice every kind of American muscle car and vintage motorcycle enthusiast, as well as an unbeatable array of vendors to cater to craft beer drinkers and foodies with a taste for the famous southern hospitality.
The rise and rise of country music’s popularity and appreciation in the UK in recent years is undeniable, and coupled with the artist and fan community’s ever-inclusive spirit, the British audience is primed to fully embrace a genre that is filled with heartfelt songs and authentic stories transcending borders and boundaries. All coming together this August, alongside the likes of previously announced stars including Brandy Clark, LOCASH, Lauren Alaina, Lindsay Ell, Sara Evans, Gretchen Peters, Sunny Sweeney, Cassadee Pope and many more, The Long Road stands as uniquely unmissable shining beacon in the festival calendar this summer.
