Promising a weekend escape perfect for the whole family, Standon Calling is once again delivering big with an unrivalled assortment for all ages – as the great summer festival experience returns in stunning fashion.
Across the festival site, there’s fun and adventure to be had by all. Whether that’s setting up shop for a laugh-out-loud trip through history with the theatrical delights of Horrible Histories Live (a long-standing favourite at Standon Calling) to the incredible Dick & Dom DJ Battle (whose last outing at Standon saw them draw one of the biggest crowds of the weekend for their feverish trip through the biggest party bangers) – not a second goes by at Standon Calling without a joyous moment the whole family can enjoy.
And who doesn’t enjoy a trip to the circus? The Flying Seagull Project heads to Standon Calling this summer promising the full circus experience packed with shows, workshops, performances, competitions and more throughout the festival weekend. Try your hand at Magical Madness, Rock Your Socks Off in a unique Drum Competition, throw yourselves into The Wig ‘n’ Bowtie Parade Of Fools or enjoy the Big And Bonkers Balloons and Big Top Workshops. Roll up, roll up – The Flying Seagull Project is coming to town.
For the younger members of the festival family, Tootles + Nibs are bringing an immersive and interactive theatre experience to Standon Calling – with their own brand of fun including the Sillyolympics, Superhero Academy and a good ‘ol round of Dodgeball thrown in for good measure. There’s plenty of playtime fun, with a specific Under 5’s Play Zone, More Than Music DJ & Production Skills workshops, Artful Dodgers Arts & Crafts and the hugely popular Woodland Tribe – bringing their incredible Adventure Playground, Giant Zip Line, Tree Swings and more. It’s a lineup of activities, adventure and action that sets Standon Calling apart – with more than enough programming across the festival site to last many a-weekend over!
Away from the activities, take a seat in the literature tent with the family for wonderful Campfire Storytelling, Tongue In Cheek Poetry and more storytelling workshops with authors Tamsyn Murray and Alice Hemming. Take a dip in the only built-in Swimming Pool in the UK festival calendar, prepare in advance for the stunning Costume Parade that runs through the festival site on Saturday afternoon and pull up a seat for the renowned Standon Calling Dog Show on Sunday. All in a welcoming and warm festival environment, Standon Calling is not just a brilliant family festival choice. It’s a brilliant family holiday too – one you’ll be trading memories over for years to come.
