Some of the region’s most exciting and talented rising musical stars are set to perform on a special Acoustic Stage, making its debut as part of Cheshire Fest 2019.
The Acoustic Stage is a brand new addition to the hugely popular two-day family event, which this year takes place at Manchester Rugby Club in Cheadle Hulme on Saturday 1 June and Sunday 2 June 2019. First launched in 2016, Cheshire Fest is a huge celebration of family entertainment, live music, food and drink in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. The Acoustic Stage will run across both days, with a line-up of more than 20 homegrown talent and rising stars of music performing a mix of original material and well-known classics.
The new stage zone will be set amongst deckchair seating, hay bales and bunting, offering festivalgoers the chance to chill-out in relaxing family friendly environment. The line-up includes Mancunian Indie folk artist David Gorman with a set featuring catchy melodies and heartfelt lyrics, mixed with delicate guitar; singer songwriter Jack Woodward, who released his second EP Higher to acclaim in 2018; rising star Jess Kemp, whose music has been featured on BBC Introducing and Radio 2; while Chris Tavener promises witty lyrics and a vintage sound.
The Acoustic Stage programme also includes guitarist and songwriter Joel Gardner; The Bright Black with irresistible indie, soul and funk; Indie singer songwriter Drew Selby; singer-songwriter Lyza will take listeners on an emotional rollercoaster of love, life and loss; acoustic singer Sam Lyon, who has supported X Factor winner Matt Cardle on tour; acoustic singer songwriter Jordan Philips; John Dhali with his indie soul sounds; folk rock duo Waiting For Bob; and Kieran Dobson & The State, inspired by Talking Heads, Nick Cave, and The Smiths.
More acts for the Acoustic Stage will be announced in the weeks leading up to Cheshire Fest.
The Acoustic Stage will complement a busy programme of live entertainment on the Cheshire Fest Main Stage across the Saturday and Sunday, featuring an array of the UK’s best tribute acts alongside the region’s finest new talent.
The ‘Big Hitters’ theme on the Saturday promises a line-up of rock and roll, indie pop and festival favourite inspired artists, with Kings Ov Leon tribute band headlining the bill. They will be joined by The Phonics (Stereophonics tribute), Totally Tina (Tina Turner tribute), and just announced The Fillers (The Killers tribute), and Kazabian (Kasabian tribute).
Sunday’s ‘Legends’ theme will leave visitors having a good time, as Flash – a critically acclaimed Queen tribute band closes the weekend alongside a host of other all-time music greats including Bruno – A Tribute To Bruno Mars, Little Fix (Little Mix tribute), and just revealed The Stones (Rolling Stones tribute), and Vicky Jackson as Pink.
There will be plenty on offer for young festivalgoers in the all-new Play Park with fair rides and Kids Stage featuring live entertainment. The Street Food Village will offer a diverse choice of international cuisines, vegan and vegetarian options, gluten free, raw foods, and kids’ menus. An impressive food offer will be complemented by more than 50 cask ales and craft beers produced by the very best independent breweries across the UK and Europe, Gin Garden, and Prosecco Bar.
