Kelly Rowland has been a part of music royalty for over three decades and is now scheduled to play what is sure to be a truly special festival headline set at Mighty Hoopla on Saturday. As one third of the timelessly iconic Destiny’s Child, Rowland is partly responsible for the colossal rise of R&B, inspiring generations of artists. Following her success in Destiny’s Child, Rowland went on to have an equally prosperous solo career, amassing a total of 13 UK top 20 singles as both a lead artist and featured artist, as well as winning 5 Grammy Awards, 2 Billboard Awards, and gaining a place on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. Fans can expect to hear favourites ‘Motivation’, ‘When Love Takes Over’, ‘Commander’ and many more when she takes to the festival stage this June.
Years & Years – the musical project of Olly Alexander – has become one of the biggest acts in the UK in just 8 years, a monumental achievement given the relatively short time frame. Alexander has become an LGBTQ+ icon and is key to contemporary British pop culture, making Years & Years the perfect headliner for the Sunday of Mighty Hoopla. In 2022, Years & Years scored their second UK No.1 album with Night Call and embarked upon a sensational UK arena tour which included a date at the OVO Wembley Arena. Now, Years & Years are set to add another huge moment to their already illustrious career when they return to close the 2023 edition of Mighty Hoopla, equipped with a catalogue of festival anthems such as ‘King’, ‘Breathe’, ‘Shine’, and many more!
Also announced today are global chart-topping group Aqua, who will bring their iconic pop hits ‘Barbie Girl’ and ‘Doctor Jones’ to the Main Stage. Elsewhere on the Main Stage is S-Club 7 member turned solo artist Rachel Stevens and Australian electro-pop duo Confidence Man, who will once again delight the Mighty Hoopla crowds following a high-energy set this year. The line-up also includes ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’ hit-maker Sophie Ellis-Bextor, R&B Soul legend Beverley Knight and 00’s music trailblazer Natasha Bedingfield.
The Bump will once again showcase some of the world’s best DJs and performers, with this year’s line-up welcoming French DJ and Drag Race France Judge Kiddy Smile, Irish DJ Krystal Klear, Midland andmusical duo The 2 Bears into a brand-new 4,000 capacity tent. Expect huge DJ sets from across the queer scene, with sets by Gina Breeze, Joshua James and Radio 1’s Jaguar.
The plethora of names that will make Mighty Hoopla the hottest party of the summer don’t stop there as the 2023 edition of the festival also welcomes 911, Jake Shears, Jamelia, Jayde Adams, Kelis, Samantha Mumba, Shola Ama, Snap!, Soul II Soul and Vengaboys.
