Long Division Festival have shared the full line up and schedule for this weekends LD:TV fundraising digital festival. Originally due to take place from the 4th – 7th June in venues across Wakefield, the festival made the difficult decision in March of this year to postpone the event until November 2020 while honouring the original dates and celebrate their 10th birthday with an online event to raise funds for artists and various funds.
Starting on Friday 5th June with a premiere of local DIY heroes Knuckle’s triumphant concert film ‘Live at Warehouse 23’ presented by Magic Rock Brewing, the festival will continue into Saturday with a 10th birthday livestream Q&A with the LD team and two main blocks of content: ‘Lets Talk Music’ and Long Division Festival.
‘Lets Talk Music’ will focus on music industry panels, masterclasses, education and outreach and feature the AIF, Music: Leeds, Backstage Academy, Yorkshire Music Forum, esteemed music journalists Charlotte Gunn & John Robb, Help Musicians and many more.
The evening will see the main block of content featuring friends of Long Division including Billy Bragg, The Lovely Eggs, The Wedding Present, Pictish Trail, Hands Off Gretel, Emma Pollock, Alessi’s Ark and many more for a two hour celebration of the festival and its history featuring new and live performances from the artists and hosted by Freeman.
A mix of pre-recorded and live streamed content, LD:TV will be hosted by DICE TV with support from pioneering live graphics agency Never. No who will be providing live, interactive graphics.
This weekend’s even will be free to access for all, though viewers and supporters are encouraged to donate. Funds raised from each of the respective episodes will go to HOOT Creative Arts in Kirklees, Help Musicians, #WakefieldCares and payment for all contributing artists.
LD:TV is made possible by: Arts Council England, Wakefield Council, Backstage Academy, Wakefield BID, Yorkshire Music Forum, Leeds College of Music, Wakefield College, UNISON, Magic Rock Brewing, Rhubarb Design House and Never. No
