Wakefield’s Long Division Festival has announced they will be postponing this year’s festival to June 2021 and launched a Crowdfunder to raise vital funds to tide the organisation through the next two years.
Having previously moved the festival from June to November 2020, Long Division hosted LD:TV over their original June date, a successful weekend of new and live streamed content raising money for a selection of charities and organisations including HOOT Creative Arts, Help Musicians and #WakefieldCares alongside paying the artists who contributed to the event.
Today Long Division have also launched a new Crowdfunder. Hoping to raise £6000, this money is crucial to the future of the festival for the next two years. However, the festival isn’t asking for something for nothing and has put a raft of amazing rewards up including naming rights for the festivals main stage, your back garden becoming an official Long Division stage, joining local DIY heroes Knuckle for a day and much more, with each pledge added to a prize draw to win a golden lanyard – granted the winner and one guest access to every Long Division event for life.
While no physical event will be possible in 2020, Long Division will continue to press on with their extra work including further LD:TV content, the return of their vinyl compilation ‘New Additions’ with Vol 2 landing in late Summer and thanks to Long Division’s various partners and funders, much of the organisation’s community and education will be able to progress in some form this year.
A number of this 2020’s artists will now appear in June 2021 including: The Futureheads, The Lovely Eggs, Beardyman, She Drew The Gun, Brix & The Extricated, Roddy Woomble, Beans On Toast, Lanterns On The Lake, Peggy Sue, Allusinlove, Too Many T’s, Big Joanie & Katie Spencer with more to be announced.
