First Aid Kit joins the world-class line-up for South Facing Festival, taking place at Crystal Palace Bowl, in London this summer. The duo will take to the stage for a huge open-air show on Saturday 12 August 2023. Tickets go on general sale this Friday 10 February from 9am via https://southfacingfestival.com/.
South Facing Festival is the capital’s biggest series of open-air concerts from the biggest names in music, taking over the Crystal Palace Bowl – a venue rooted in South London and steeped in musical history. Since its debut in 2021, South Facing Festival marks a new era in outdoor entertainment with an unbeatable line-up with artists spanning the worlds of rap, indie, rock, pop, classical and more.
First Aid Kit is the Swedish folk duo made up of sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg. Delicately threading together eloquent folk, breezy Americana, and pensive pop, and having amassed over 1 billion streams and counting, the two-time BRIT Award-nominated duo’s blend of artful songcraft and ambitious melodies continues to fixate audiences worldwide. Following The Big Black and The Blue [2010] and The Lion’s Roar [2012], the group reached critical mass with 2014’s Stay Gold. The lead single “My Silver Lining” garnered hundreds of millions of streams, achieving Gold certification in the UK.
Known and loved the world over for their beautiful vocal harmonies and rich indie-folk catalogue of tracks such as My Silver Lining and Emmy Lou, the band has been celebrated by the likes of Jack White and has collaborated with everyone from Jenny Lewis and Conor Oberst to George Ezra and Zara Larsson. First Aid Kit take flight like never before on their 2022 fifth full-length, Palomino. Produced by Daniel Bengston and crafted in Sweden, it leans into vibrant and vital pop hooks with their signature intuition and emotional acuity on display as introduced through the single “Out of My Head.”
This summer, hot on the heels of two sold-out Eventim Apollo shows last December, First Aid Kit will be heading back to London for a very special open-air show at South Facing, with support from special guests Irish singer-songwriter CMAT, folk band Flyte and former Maccabees, Felix and Hugo White – 86TVs.
