Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Ian Brown and Travis are set to take centre stage at Bingley Festival, West Yorkshire this summer.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds top the first of a series of announcements for the much loved Bingley Festival, which will also see the legendary Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown and Scottish rock band TRAVIS take part in what is being billed as the biggest and best event the organisers have hosted to date.

With his new album ‘Council Skies’ set for release on 2nd June, Noel Gallagher will be delivering a memorable set of songs from his 10 year solo career, as well as a selection of Oasis classics.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds first emerged in 2011 with their eponymous album and is revered as one of the greatest singer songwriters ever to grace the United Kingdom.

Joining Noel on the festival lineup is Ian Brown, the ex-frontman of one of the most influential British bands of the 1980s and 90s, The Stone Roses. As well as being the singer and key songwriter of the legendary group, Brown’s solo career continues to impress.

Brown inaugurated his post-Stone Roses career with a 1998 solo LP, the platinum selling Unfinished Monkey Business. The album spotlighted a more emotionally diverse approach to music-making.

On the 25th October 2018, Ian released his first solo material in 9 years with the single ‘First World Problems’. His seventh studio album, the critically acclaimed, Top 5 hit ‘Ripples’ followed on 1 February 2019.

Multi- platinum and BRIT award winning band Travis will be headlining the festival on Sunday night. Most recently, the band have toured their classic albums ‘The Man Who’ and ‘The Invisible Band’ which achieved 9 times and 4 times platinum status respectively in the U.K. Travis’ rich tour history includes headline performances at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and T in the Park, as well as epic festival shows further afield at Japan’s Fuji Rock, Corona Capital Mexico City and Coachella in the USA, to name but a few.

Hold back the river, because music sensation James Bay will be sauntering into Bingley on Sunday 6th August. James Bay released his single “Hold Back the River” in 2014, which was certified platinum, before releasing his debut studio album ‘Chaos and the Calm’. The album went to number one in the UK and number 15 in the US.

Razorlight, Jake Bugg, Kate Nash, and The Zutons will also perform across the three days.

What’s more, Bingley Festival will also have a special focus on emerging and breakthrough UK talent. The Cardiff born TIKTOK young starlet Hannah Grae will be in Bingley this summer bringing her unique vocal ability to the party. Other notable high risers includes indie pop sensation Somebody’s Child, GIRLBAND and the excellent alternative world of Lizzie Esau.

Meanwhile, Kate Nash’s place at the heart of alternative culture is guaranteed to shine bright when Kate rolls into Bingley.  Breaking boundaries and pushing for meaningful change within the music industry across her career, Kate’s sense of independence and earnest celebration is bound to come to the fore this summer.

Thousands took to Bradford & Bingley Rugby Club last year for the festival and this year promises to be no different.

Last year’s sold out line-up featured singer songwriter Rag n Bone Man, American alt rock band Pixies and rock band The Libertines. This year the festival will top that with an even more impressive line-up of world class music.

Bingley Festival takes place this year from Friday 4th August through to Sunday 6th August.

General sale tickets will be available from 10am on Friday 24th March. Organisers urge music fans to purchase tickets quickly to avoid disappointment as they anticipate a sell out year. Tickets can be purchased through bingleyweekender.co.uk
