All Points East’s In The NBHD returns to Victoria Park this summer with an incredible four-day programme of the biggest and best activities and entertainment in London, all of which you can enjoy for FREE!

In collaboration with Tower Hamlets Council, the local community and local organisations, the free programme takes place in between two incredible weekends of music, with festival headliners Stormzy, The Strokes, Jungle, Dermot Kennedy, HAIM, plus APE Presents Field Day with Aphex Twin and Bonobo. Tickets on sale now. 

In The NBHD makes the most of the last weeks of the summer holidays, and is the ideal destination for families and fun-loving Londoners. There will be an eclectic mix of unmissable free activities for all ages, including a cinema, live music and entertainment, irresistible street food, theatre, dance, sports & wellbeing workshops, family activities and so much more. 

This summer In The NBHD have partnered with more local organisations than ever before to put on a jam-packed week of entertainment. There will be a mouth-watering selection of street food on offer too, the full list of breweries and vendors to be announced. 

One of London’s best free cinemas is back for another year with another incredible line-up of films for all the family. The movies on offer will be a mix of new releases (Air, 2023), critically acclaimed blockbusters (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Indie favourites (Rye Lane, 2023), documentaries celebrating iconic figures (He Named Me Malala, I Am Bolt), and hit romantic comedies (Yesterday). Grab a picnic basket and come down early to get your spot. 

If you fancy even more music in between the All Points East weekends, head down to In The NBHD to hear the best in local London musical talent, including Paul Simon’s Graceland presented by the LDN African Gospel Choir, Bollyflex, Europe’s Biggest Bollywood dance company and Hackney Proms bringing high quality orchestral music to East London families, with much more still to be announced. 

Invest some time in recharging and wellness with In The NBHD’s wellbeing programmes. Unwind and refresh with Mental Health VR Experiences presented by The Fred Company, using cutting edge technology to simulate soothing experiences that reduce stress and increase relaxation. Join Eat Club in kid friendly workshops from 21-23 August, teaching young people how to eat wholesome, healthy food, celebrating the food culture linked to the social history of Tower Hamlets, and demonstrating how to produce digital food content through video and photography. 

In the mood for getting active? Bring the family and play like professional footballers with West Ham FC football sessions. For girls under 16, catch Girls Allowed for an inclusive, safe space to get active and enjoy movement through a mixture of traditional and non-traditional sports with a DJ keeping the vibe going non-stop. Join East London’s own Move Studio for nourishing community classes in pilates, HIIT, dance, meditation, and activities for mums and babies. 

Step Up with Gymshark and Just Geen for an aerobic stepper class on Sunday 20th August. This session marries festival vibes and hard work in beautiful, sweaty harmony. Fitness looks different to everybody and, while there are so many ways to move, this promises to be a fun one. Can’t make the 20th? Meet us at the E3 Stage on 21st, 22nd and 23rd, for plenty more classes with their experienced Gymshark Pro Trainers.

There are also plenty of art, music and theatrical workshops available to bring the whole family down and get creative. Let out your inner performer with theatre workshops from Tower Hamlets’ own Tamarind Theatre Company, Mukul and Ghetto Tigers based in both East London and Dhaka, Bangladesh, Apples & Snakes Drama and Spoken Word Workshops, and storytelling classes with Adventure Babies: Sensory Experiences. Explore your inner artist through craft workshops: create art as a community with Trapped in Zone One; learn all about the richness of Somali culture through Queen of Sheeba: Somali Dance, Storytelling, Arts and Crafts; and discover easy and crafty ways for the whole family to live sustainably with Sunny Jar Ecohub. Plus, visit Rich Mix and Museum of London celebrating the culture and history of Tower Hamlets.

The School of Noise is also heading to Victoria Park this summer. Take part in their workshops which include exploring the science of sound, playing unusual instruments, composing experimental sound art, conducting orchestras of fruit and vegetables, soundwalks plus so much more. 

Just want to relax and watch? There are tons of live theatre events throughout In The NBHD for children and adults of all ages to enjoy together. The magical and witty storytelling by Half Moon Theatre will be lighting up Victoria Park again this year, plus pop-up puppet shows by Bus King Theatre. If you’re a fan of musical theatre and dance, In The NBHD has you covered with shows from world famous West End Kids, showcasing the best in future West End talent, and a live performance from East London’s leading dance school, Adore Dance. Feel free to sing along with Some Voices, the UK’s most exciting non-audition pop choir covering all the biggest hits. 

Be sure to also catch the pop-up events throughout the park, including the wonderfully unique Bureau of Silly Ideas, who specialise in ‘did you just see that?!’ moments and spectacles that leave audiences in stitches. Moving around the site will be Orchestra of Objects – an entire interactive orchestra made up of discarded objects creating fun for the whole family. 

If this isn’t enough, there are still more events and activities to be announced, making In The NBHD the perfect end of summer activity for everyone.
