Georgia Webster kicks starts an exciting 2023 for the rising star by supporting Kelsea Ballerini on her HEARTFIRST TOUR in the UK. We got the chance for a quick catch up.
1. You’re about to kick off a tour in the UK this week. What are you most excited about?
It’s my first time in the UK so I’m just so excited to be here and see all the sights and meet the fans. I’m also really excited to go to the Harry Potter store.
2. What can fans expect from your show and when will you be back headlining?
Fans can expect a new song, possibly 2 new songs, and most of the new EP plus some oldies. And oh my gosh I hope I get to come headline soon, next time I’ll be back is for a festival in August that will be announcing soon.
3. What do you know about Kelsey who you will be supporting? Are you friends with her?
Yes! Kelsea found me on TikTok and reached out by FaceTiming me; I was already a huge fan and have been since I was a kid and I just love her so much. Every time we talk I feel like I’ve known her for so long and she has just been like such a big sister vibe this tour.
4. Outside of the shows, what is the one thing about visiting the UK?
Harry Potter! I just went to the John Ryland institute yesterday which looks just like Hogwarts inside and I’m planning on going to the Harry Potter store in London.
5. You released your EP at the end of last year. What about new music, I believe you have new songs ready to play on these shows?
Yes! I’m playing a new one called “Ex’s Best Friend” that will be out really soon. I’m super excited about it. I also may or may not play a new one called “Boston” stripped down just me and guitar.
6. You have a podcast series, what was it like putting that together and will you be documenting these shows for anything like that?
It was so fun! I really wanna start document more of my experiences even outside of music and putting out more stuff for YouTube so I’m definitely trying to get something together for this tour.
7. You grew up surrounded by music, what about English music? Did you listen to much English music growing up?
Oh yes! My favorite band growing up was One Direction – they were my first real concert and I saw them with 5 Seconds of Summer when they opened. I also listened to Keane a lot growing up, who my mom loves, and David Bowie.
8. If so, which British artist would you most like to collaborate with and why?
Right now I would say either Maisie Peters or Holly Humerstone; I’ve been so obsessed with both of them recently and look up to them so much.
9. Which species would be the rudest if all animals could talk and why do you think that is?
Honestly I think cats would be the rudest. I love cats and have always had cats but they’re kind of jerks most of the time.
10. Thanks for your time and good luck with the tour. Just to finish, what are your plans for the rest of 2023?
Thank you so much!! My plans as of now are to finish out this tour with Kelsea and put out some new stuff, and play some more shows/ festivals this summer. I’m also hoping to get some headlining dates as some point soon in Nashville and some other cities.
