A1, are a British-Norwegian boy band who formed in 1998 & released their debut single, Be the First to Believe, which smashed straight into the Top 10, quickly followed by another 6 hits, 2 number 1’s and a BRIT Award for ‘British Breakthrough Act’ in 2001
The foursome had always hoped to become some of Britain’s biggest stars. With their dashing good looks, coupled with songs of heartbreak and young love it was destined to be something they would achieve. Despite launching onto the pop scene as a boy band, A1 are strong musicians with an intelligible talent for writing their own material. However, it was their re-worked version of a-ha’s cult classic Take on Me that marked the group’s first number one song and generated global mass hysteria from fans. This hit cemented their profiles in the spotlight, much like for a-ha some 15 years prior, whose original only reached the number 2 spot.
With successful solo & TV careers, including appearances in Flashdance The Musical, Celebrity Big Brother, ITV’s The Big Reunion, Les Miserables, Robot Wars & songwriting collaborations with other respected artists the band are back with a brand new single & UK tour throughout October 2021
