On June 19th, 2020, international superstars Black Eyed Peas dropped, their eighth studio album ‘Translation’. It’s one that, judging by the reaction on social media to the news, their millions of fans worldwide are a tiny bit excited for. Couple that with the fact that the first teaser single, “RITMO (Bad Boys For Life)” has amassed over 1.5 billion streams to date, and it would seem that the Black Eyed Peas return can’t come around quick enough.
The single, taken from hit movie “Bad Boys For Life”, was the perfect appetizer for the album and sees the genre-defying superstars delivering an electrifying fifteen track album. As we head into the summer months and, hopefully, a bit of nice weather, the release of “Transistor” couldn’t be timed any better. The perfect accompaniment to those lazy days and hazy nights on the beach, the genre-smashing pop heavyweights have not only given their fans the best news in these trying times but they’ve dropped a top-quality album.
“Translation” sees will.i.am and Co collaborate with a whole raft of their mates from Latino superstar Shakira who joins the group on the sultry “Girl Like Me” while, elsewhere, Nicky Jam and Tyga weigh-in for the pumping, sample-laced “Vida Loca”. Recently, the group dropped the energetic new single “No Mañana”, which saw them team up with El Alfa while French Montana joins them for “Mabuti” a track that is sure to become a favourite in dance clubs across Europe in the not too distant future (Coronavirus permitting).
The emotional “News Today” brings the album to a close and it’s a powerful twist to end the album. However, in these troubled times, “Translation” is the perfect antidote music fans need. Knowing exactly what their fanbase wants, will.i.am and co have smashed it out of the park for them. Once restrictions are lifted on large gatherings, the beach parties and night clubs across Europe are going to be absolutely bouncing. As the group holler on “Action” towards the end of the album, “it’s time for some action”, and there couldn’t be a better album to kickstart it than this one.
The album is available now on all digital platforms HERE. Additionally, they unveil the music video for “FEEL THE BEAT” with Maluma.
To celebrate the record’s arrival, the six-time GRAMMY® Award-winning, genre-bending pioneers launch a full-scale television takeover. On June 24, they kick off the day by performing on ABC’s Good Morning America “Summer Concert Series” and closing out the night with a performance on CBS’s Late Late Show Starring James Corden. Next up, they ring in Independence Day by taking the stage at Macy’s 4th of July Special on NBC. Be sure to tune in!
