Chock full of Led Zeppelin classics with a twist added by recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominee Robinson on lead vocals, this is a recording that captures the raw energy and intensity of a legendary live show that you can now relive over and over.
As well as Zeppelin classics there are fan favourite Crowes numbers like Remedy and recently released single; No Speak No Slave, a hell for leather 100mph rock and roll race like they don’t make anymore.
There’s also a handful of blues rock classics by the likes of Otis Redding and BB King, brought to life by Page’s incomparable guitar work, as well as Yardbird’s classic Shapes of Things for the hardcore Page completists.
It’s a hell of an ask for any frontman, to live up to legendary vocalist Robert Plant on some of the greatest rock tracks ever recorded, but Chris Robinson doesn’t miss a beat with his gritty vocals especially on Bring It On Home and on set closer Whole Lotta Love, if you can’t have the real thing, then this is as good as it gets!
As Jimmy Page himself says “The new mixes capture the collaboration of those historic encounters and provide the full explosive passion and exciting energy of those alchemical moments.” This record is an essential for any collector or for any live rock enthusiast, if you couldn’t be there, this is as good as it gets.
